CTRL is SZA’s 2017 debut studio album, which follows the release of her extended play Z (2014). SZA wrote for other artists while working on her own music. She followed an analog process, contributing heavily to the album’s lyrics, and recorded in a freestyle method, relying on moments in the studio. The album debuted at #3 on the US Billboard 200 and generated the singles “Drew Barrymore,” “Love Galore” and “The Weekend.”
