Lester has worked with some of the greats of jazz including \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eGerald Wilson\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eAnita O'Day\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eLionel Hampton\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eRoy Porter Sound Machine\u003c\/strong\u003e on the classic 'Jessica' album.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eLester was a member of Horace Tapscott's \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ePan-Afrikan Peoples Arkestra\u003c\/strong\u003e and features on the iconic underground jazz albums 'The Call' and 'Live At I.U.C.C.'. The Arkestra was set up in 1961 in Los Angeles and over the years has included wonderful, inspirational musicians such as \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eAdele Sebastian\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eKamasi Washington\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eDwight Trible\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ePhil Ranelin\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eArthur Blythe\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eJesse Sharps\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eNate Morgan\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThese two recordings have \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003erecently been discovered\u003c\/strong\u003e on an \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003earchived master tape\u003c\/strong\u003e that little information on it other than Lester's name and the track titles. Sadly, the other players on the tracks aren’t credited on the tape, so a line-up can’t be 100% confirmed. Still, the magic of what they laid down in the session pays testament to their artistry. First up is the lively popping track 'Akirfa' in which Lester gets space to let rip and exercise his talents.
